Smarteka's Monitoring System for Cancer Patients to be Launched in the Irkutsk Region and Krasnodar Territory 15 июля 2021

This autumn, the Irkutsk Region and the Krasnodar Territory will launch Oncor, a cancer information system combining all data related to the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and regular patient check-up. In July, BusinessComputer, the solution developer, signed the agreements with regional cancer detection centers. Late last year, the ASI approved Oncor as the best solution for High-Tech Solutions for Medicine.

«The Agency helped the project team present the project to the Ministry of Health and the Irkutsk medical information and analytical center for further dissemination. The project will be further promoted to potential healthcare customers in other regions. The case study of the regional cancer information system Oncor integration is posted on the Smarteka for further duplication,» Svetlana Egelskaya, Director at ASI’s New Business Project Center, said.

Oncor will collect and analyze patient data throughout their observation and treatment. This technology will support information sharing across the oncological service divisions, keep patients' medical history, monitor patient examination, and the scope and quality of treatment. The system downloads data from private and public medical institutions. It is integrated into local medical information systems, the Unified State Healthcare System of Russia, and the Vertically Integrated Medical Information System «Oncology» (VIMIS «Onco»).

«Oncor offers the maximum performance for remote or densely populated areas of the region. We hope that this system will improve the oncological situation in these two regions due to more effective patients' diagnosis, treatment, and regular medical checkups,» Sergey Efremov, Director at BusinessComputer, said. «This year, the company will launch the full system operation in the Tambov Region, ” he said.

The solution has been fully implemented in the Sverdlovsk Region. From 2017 to 2020, the detection of malignant neoplasms at early stages increased 2,7%, the time before the start of specialized treatment was reduced from 33 to 20 days (40%), and the number of defects in patients' malignant neoplasm examination decreased from 744 to 621 (17%).

The system is being implemented in two more regions; the third system deployment stage was launched in the Primorsky Territory early this year, and the Orenburg Region has completed the first integration stage in December 2020.
